on october 23 and 30, professor lin zhao from the school of geographic sciences at nanjing university of information science and technology visited lanzhou university's yuzhong campus and delivered a course on "introduction to cryosphere science" to our undergraduate students from the class of 2021.
professor lin zhao provided a comprehensive and detailed explanation to the undergraduates about the formation and development of the cryosphere. this included the conditions for the formation and development of snow cover, glaciers, permafrost, and ice in rivers, lakes, and seas, as well as the evolution of the cryosphere at different scales. professor zhao also shared insights about the scientific spirit of mr. zhou youwu, a pioneer in china's permafrost studies, who remained true to his original aspirations and pursued scientific excellence.
