on november 6th and 13th, researcher yingjian ding from the state key laboratory of cryospheric science at the northwest institute of eco-environment and resources, chinese academy of sciences, delivered a course on "introduction to cryospheric science" to our 21st-grade undergraduate students at lanzhou university's yuzhong campus.
researcher ding yongjian provided a comprehensive and detailed explanation to undergraduate students about the interactions of the cryosphere with other spheres. this primarily included the interactions between the cryosphere and the climate system, land surface system, ecological system, hydrological system, and social system. drawing on the latest advancements in scientific research, he systematically introduced the atmospheric-cryosphere feedback mechanisms, biological-cryosphere interactions, land surface processes and cold region disasters. furthermore, he discussed the extent of the cryosphere's impact on humanity and adaptation strategies.
