invited by the department of geography, college of earth and environmental sciences of lanzhou university, professor jia sen from shenzhen university came to our university for academic exchanges on september 22nd, and gave an academic report on "intelligent processing and application of hyperspectral images" in the afternoon of september 22nd in the conference room of 1615, guanyun building, chengguan campus. the report was hosted by professor geng haopeng of college of earth and environmental sciences, and some teachers and graduate and undergraduate students of the department of geography of college of earth and environmental sciences listened to the report.
starting from the processing and application methods of hyperspectral images, professor jia sen proposed to form chained research by constructing quality improvement, feature mining and feature classification techniques in order to provide a foundation for subsequent engineering applications. he briefly introduced the quality de-cloud algorithm, image super-resolution and semi-supervised twin network, gave the direction of the application of hyperspectral images, and combined with his team's work on the accurate calculation of carbon storage in single wood, proved the good performance of hyperspectral image features in practical problems. after the report, professor jia sen had active exchanges and discussions with the participating teachers and students, from large-scale biomass estimation, deep learning and other aspects to start a lively discussion.

jia sen is a distinguished professor of shenzhen university, a doctoral supervisor, and a national young talent of the ministry of education. he is mainly engaged in research and development in the fields of artificial intelligence, machine learning and remote sensing information processing. he has presided over one key basic research project of military science and technology commission and four top-level projects of natural fund; won one second prize of natural science of guangdong province in 2021 and one second prize of natural science of shenzhen municipality in 2022 as the first complete author; senior member of ieee, and serves as an editorial board member of the international authoritative journal of remote sensing, "ieee transactions on geoscience and remote sensing".
