to better develop the construction of national first-class undergraduates’ education in geographic information science, especially to enrich professional teachers’ relevant experience in compiling textbooks, on 14thmay 2023, from 2:00-6:00 pm, at the invitation of associate professor yanyun nian from the department of geography of lanzhou university, professor naixia mu, from college of geodesy and geomatics of shandong university of science and technology, had an academic exchange in conference room 213, qilian hall, chengguan campus, and discussed with professional teachers of geographic information science. the main topics of the exchange were to discuss the construction of the first-class undergraduate program of geographic information science in lanzhou university, the revision of the 2023 edition of the talent training program of geographic information science, and the sharing of experience in compiling the teaching materials, such as professional textbooks. 10 teachers whose research interests are geographic information science and the representatives of graduate students attended the symposium.
at the symposium, prof. mu introduced the educational philosophy, the construction thoughts of national first-class undergraduates’ education, and the formulation and experience of the talent training plan in geographic information science major at shandong university of science and technology, and made suggestions for the revision of talent training program of the geographic information science of lanzhou university. combined with the teaching and scientific research achievements in the past few years, especially in teaching materials compilation, competition awards, and scientific research direction, prof. mu had a heated detailed discussion with teachers from geographic information science.
