on october 29, 2022, at the invitation of professor mou cuicui and associate professor lu xia from the college of earth and environmental science of lanzhou university, yin runsheng, a researcher at the institute of geochemistry, chinese academy of sciences, taught the course "global cycle of persistent poisons" to the 2022 doctoral students majoring in resources and environment of our institute. the theme of the course was: mercury isotope perspectives on the global mercury cycle.
the report includes the application history and geochemical characteristics of mercury, the isotope geochemical overview and analysis methods of mercury, the biogeochemical cycle of mercury, and the deep mercury cycle. at the end of the class, researcher yin runsheng answered the questions raised by the students one by one, and the students benefited a lot from this class.

yin runsheng, a researcher at the institute of geochemistry, chinese academy of sciences, received his bachelor's degree from the chengdu university of technology in 2006 and his ph.d. from the university of chinese academy of sciences in 2012. after graduation, he did postdoctoral research at the hong kong polytechnic university and the university of wisconsin. in 2017, he returned to china to work and was funded by the 100 talents program of the chinese academy of sciences and the 10,000 talents program of the organization department of the central committee. mainly engaged in mercury isotope geochemical methods, theory, and application research, published the first/corresponding author sci papers 48 papers, including nature communications, geology, epsl, gca, grl, es&t, etc., cited more than 3500 times.
