academician qin introduced the latest progress of climate change research from the aspects of ipcc framework, system and rules of procedure, aiming at the teaching goal of "value construction, ability improvement and knowledge imparting", which will be of great help to students' long-term development. he hoped that our students could seize this valuable opportunity to learn. in the first lecture that is titled" the development of climate change science and future plan of earth", academician qin introduced the cutting-edge achievements of climate change research from the related concepts of climate change, the impact on human and economic society, and the current research situation. according to academician qin, the main conclusions of the fifth ipcc assessment report show that the impact of human activities on the climate system is obvious; the greater the human disturbance to the climate, the greater the risk, and the impact is irreversible; human society is taking effective measures to deal with climate change. the current research has proved that human activities generally make the climate warmer, and the impact of this result on the global is multifaceted. therefore, research on climate change is being more and more interdisciplinary.
academician qin said that the current global climate is undergoing a significant change characterized by warming, which is a major challenge facing the international community. this course will help students to understand the latest progress and hot issues of climate change research, master the relevant knowledge of climate change science, familiarize themselves with policies and measures, technological choices and international governance systems, and develop independent thinking ability, expression ability and team cooperation ability, so as to form an international vision, overall concept and interdisciplinary thinking mode.
