during october 19th to 20th, 2019, the third conference of the fourth academic committee of the key laboratory of western china’s environmental systems, ministry of education,was held in the lecture room 502, qianlian building.
the conference was hosted by academician dahe qin. professor xiaohua gou, director of the laboratory gave a report which focused on the introduction about the new development of the laboratory over past two years including scientific research, social service, talent team construction, talents cultivation, open communication and so on. then, a committee meeting, around a central point—the development of the laboratory, was held. experts attending the meeting offered many suggestions for the future development of the laboratory under the new background from different aspects to promote the research of geography of lanzhou university.
during the conference, a series academic reports, the names of which were “development and thought about the uplift and environmental change of tibetan plateau”, “chinese tree-ring research from region to the globe”, “phytogeography on the background of global change: development and expectation”, and “integrated modeling of ecology-hydrology-economy and sustainable development decision support system in the basin of heihe river”, were given by professor xiaomin fang, professor yu liu, professor hongyan liu, and professor xin li respectively. reports showed teachers and students the frontier scientific problems and new research directions in these research fields. besides, associate professor dongju zhang, associate professor xiaofei hu, youth researcher duo wu, associate professor zilong zhang, professor baoqing zhang and associate professor xiaodan wu introduced the new research progress made by themselves and their team.
