on the morning of july 29th, the opening ceremony of the 2019 national college geography joint field study was held at lanzhou university. there are more than 180 teachers and students from 36 universities including seven national geography bases, the chinese university of hong kong, national kaohsiung normal university. the opening ceremony was hosted by zhenghu shen, secretary of the party committee of the college of earth and environmental sciences.
on behalf of the school, baotian pan, vice president of lanzhou university, welcomed the teachers and students who participated in the 2019 national college geographyjoint field studyand hoped that the students could cherish the learning opportunities and pay attention to their own safety. the initial convener of the national college geography bases joint field study, professor xiangminzheng of east china normal university pointed out that field study is a very important talent training method in geography, aiming at cultivating outstanding geography reserve talents.subsequently, professor nai‘ang wang from the college of earth and environmental sciences, lanzhou university, introduced the plan for the 2019 national college geography joint field study.
it is reported that since 2009, the inter-regional national college geography joint field study organized by the ministry of education geography teachingsteeringcommittee and the geography national science base university association has been held ten timesin a row. the 11th national college geography joint field study in 2019 was hosted by the college of earth and environmental sciences, lanzhou university and the center for glacier and desert research, lanzhou university. itcoincided with the 2019 “discovery plan” geography joint field study hosted by the hong kong, macao and taiwan affairs office, the ministry of education. the two field studies are combined into onein the form of merger andcontentof innovation.
