on july 15th, the 6th national undergraduate hydraulic engineering innovation design was held in kunming university of science and technology. the team comprising five students (chuandong wu, bo wei, lina pei, jinhua fan, ka zhang) from the department of hydrology and water resources engineering, lanzhou university won the third prize of the competition under the guidance of the teachers wei tian and yibo wang, and their work was a wave activated power generation device based on a set of shifting gears.
the competition is the only national hydraulic engineering competition sponsored by the committee for hydraulic engineering education of university, ministry of education and china association of hydraulic engineering education. there were 237 works in this competition from more than 90 institutions including tsinghua university, hohai university, and wuhan university.
this competition not only fully demonstrated the scientific research and innovation ability of the students from the hydrology and water resources engineering, college of earth and environmental sciences, lanzhou university, but also further enhanced the influence of this discipline of lanzhou university.
