on may 27th, the 8th china environmental institute directors' forum on the theme of “science and technology innovation supporting ecological environment protection and winning the battle of pollution prevention and control” was held in lanzhou. the forum was jointly hosted by the chinese society for environmental sciences and the teaching steering committee of environmental science and engineering of the ministry of education, organized by lanzhou university, gansu provincial department of ecology and environment and gansu society for environmental sciences, and co-organized by jiangsu yifu technology co., ltd.
nearly 300 people attended the forum, including academician kebin he of tsinghua university, academician jinnan wang of the environmental planning institute of the ministry of ecology and environment, academician lizhong zhu of zhejiang university, deputy director haihong su of the department of social development science and technology of the ministry of science and technology, division chief jun yu of the department of technology and finance of the ministry of ecology and environment, secretary-general zhihua wang of the chinese society for environmental sciences, inspector zhengmin zhang of the department of ecology and environment of gansu province, secretary of the party committee zhanting yuan of lanzhou university, vice president baotian pan of lanzhou university, leaders and experts of the ministry of ecology and environment, ministry of science and technology, and chinese academy of sciences, as well as leaders of environmental protection research institutions in various provinces and cities and scholars engaged in environmental education.
the opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by hongying hu who is the secretary-general of the environmental science and engineering teaching steering committee of the ministry of education and professor of tsinghua university. zhengmin zhang, kebin he, zhihua wang, and zhanting yuan delivered speeches on behalf of their units respectively.
in the main venue, eight experts and scholars such as keshi he, jinnan wang, baotian pan, zhengmin zhang, and jun yu made keynote reports revolved around various aspects, including the national needs and the new requirements for talent cultivation in the development of environmental disciplines, the national urban air quality improvement roadmap analysis, the practice and thinking of serving the construction of ecological security barriers in the northwest, accelerating the development of the organic life and health industry on the qinghai-tibet plateau, and the supporting service to fight the battle against pollution.
after the keynote report, the conference set up two sub-forums on the theme of “focus on the construction of ecological civilization, helping the high-quality development of gansu province” and “innovation of the scientific and technological system to win the battle of pollution prevention and control”. experts and scholars from various universities and research institutes have conducted in-depth exchanges and dialogues on topics such as qilian mountain ecological protection, yangtze river protection and restoration, air pollution control, and university personnel training experience.
at the closing ceremony, zhihua wang read the proposal, held the relevant cooperation signing ceremony and held a forum handover ceremony with sichuan university.
