from april 7th to april 12th, profs. zhang tingjun, ma jinhui, nian yanyun, bi jian, wu xiaodan and zhang yi went to vienna, austria to attend the european geosciences union general assembly 2019 and conducted academic exchanges for 6 days.
this conference was organized by the european geosciences union, covering the fields of cryosphere science, atmospheric science, marine science, geophysics, hydrology, and planetary science, which is of important influence in geoscience academia. according to statistics, more than 15,000 people from 113 countries participated in the conference this year.
at this conference, teachers majored in geographic information science had in-depth exchanges with participating scholars and experts about the rs and gis application in issues of geologic disaster and global climate change, demonstrating the latest achievements of our institute in rs and gis. through this conference, the participating colleagues grasped the latest international research hotspots and trends in geographic information science applications. at the same time, participating in this conference would help domestic and foreign scholars to know the geographic information science major of our institute.
during the conference, the colleagues were invited to visit the vienna office of riegl, the world-renowned austria laser radar manufacturer. dr. zhu lingxiao, manager of riegl china, introduced riegl's application in airborne lidar.
