pei wansheng, primarily engaged in permafrost and cold region engineering research. currently a researcher at the northwest institute of eco-environment and resources, chinese academy of sciences and deputy director of the beiluhe plateau permafrost engineering safety national field observation research station. he has received the national natural science foundation's outstanding young scientist grant; he also serves as a committee member of the world young earth scientists network china committee (yeschina) and a youth editorial committee member of the journal "journal of glaciology and geocryology." he has published over 30 sci papers as the first author/corresponding author, holds 18 authorized invention patents, and has led major projects funded by the national natural science foundation, gansu province's major science and technology projects, and the third comprehensive scientific investigation of xinjiang. he was selected as an outstanding member of the youth innovation promotion association of the chinese academy of sciences and received the young scientist award from the chinese academy of sciences. his achievements have been successfully applied in several road engineering projects in the permafrost regions of the tibetan plateau, earning him a first-class gansu provincial science and technology progress award (2/15).
