liu xiaomang is a researcher and doctoral supervisor at the institute of geographic sciences and natural resources research, chinese academy of sciences. he is also the director of the hydrology research office. he has been awarded the national excellent young scientist fund and selected as a member of the youth innovation promotion association, chinese academy of sciences, and the "bingwei" excellent talent program of the institute of geographic sciences and natural resources research, chinese academy of sciences. he has engaged in global change and regional water security and has published more than 80 academic papers in journals such as wrr, grl, jgr, and jh. his consulting reports have been approved and adopted by national leaders, the general office of the central committee of the communist party of china and the general office of the state council of the people's republic of china. he serves as the secretary-general of the commission on hydrogeography of the geographical society of china.
