dr. zhang guoping, a researcher, is the chief engineer of the public meteorological service center of the china meteorological administration. he has successively engaged in research and business work on short-term and imminent forecasting and early warning of high-impact weather at the national meteorological center and the public meteorological service center of the china meteorological administration. he is committed to developing minute-level strong weather risk prediction technology and early warning services at the street scale. led the establishment of the national meteorological center's national geological disaster meteorological risk early warning business system; we have established a machine learning-based high-impact weather short-term business system under the auspices of the public meteorological service center of the china meteorological administration. as the project leader, i have successively presided over 3 national and provincial level projects funded by the national natural science foundation of china, and undertaken more than 10 scientific research achievement transformation projects; received 6 provincial and ministerial awards, 4 national invention patents, and 13 soft works, and published over 40 papers in domestic and foreign journals. in recent years, a high-impact weather short-term prediction service technology based on multi-source data such as radar, satellite, and ground observations, as well as numerical models, has been proposed. a high-impact weather near-term prediction service technology with 5-minute updates has been developed, and as the technical chief, a weather radar minute level precipitation, national hail, convective strong winds, short-term strong precipitation, and lightning near-term prediction service system has been developed, providing real-time services to over 100 million public users through platforms such as china weather network; serve over 20000 professional users in industries such as aviation, petrochemical, and power through the china thunderbolt app.
