zhang haiping graduated from the college of geographical sciences, nanjing normal university in june 2020 with a ph.d., and worked as a postdoctoral fellow at nanjing normal university from july 2020 to july 2022. in recent years, he is mainly engaged in researching geographic information science theories and methods, focusing on topics such as geographic information mechanisms, gis modeling, and simulation of social geographic processes, geographic boundary models, and geographic zoning. he has published more than 30 papers in domestic and international journals and 11 papers in international journals such as geographical analysis, giscience & remote sensing, transactionsingis, appliedgeography, etc. in the past 5 years as first/corresponding author. he has also published four papers in chinese journals such as geography research, journal of geography, and geographic information science. his papers published in geography research were selected as highly cited papers. he is also the chair of one project of the national natural science foundation of china (nsfc) and one project of the jiangsu provincial postdoctoral fund. he participated in five projects as a backbone, including the national key research and development programme, key projects, and surface projects of the national natural science foundation of china. as an author, he has participated in and published one textbook each on gis principles and gis experiments, and co-edited a textbook on introduction to geographic information science. he has guided students to win the first prize in the esri application development skills competition and nearly 10 national entrepreneurship projects for university students. he has received seven domestic and international awards, including the national university gis new talent award, the national top ten urban datographer individual contribution award, and the outstanding young paper award at the gis and urban geography and other academic conferences.
