feng min, a professor and doctoral supervisor of the institute of tibetan plateau research, chinese academy of sciences, has long been engaged in land cover research based on remote sensing big data. he used to work in the department of geography, the university of maryland, and the institute of geographic resources, chinese academy of sciences. in 2016, he was hired by the world bank as a geospatial technology consultant. he has published more than 50 sci papers in journals such as nature, nature climate change, and remote sensing environment. he has presided over a number of projects such as the national science foundation for youth and the natural science foundation of the united states. he used to be the person in charge of the special project of basic science and technology, the "135" strategic science and technology plan of geography institute of chinese academy of sciences, the remote sensing technology service of ecological environment of the ministry of environmental protection, remote sensing monitoring of the ecological environment of sanjiangyuan region and other projects. his main research interests are remote sensing data fusion and remote sensing monitoring and analysis of global vegetation and water bodies.
