MTHWAKAZI LIBERATION FRONT (MLF): RESOLUTIONS FROM THE MEETING HELD IN GABORONE, BOTSWANA

This Press Statement is concerned with highlighting the Mthwakazi Liberation Front’s (MLF’s) Resolutions taken at a meeting held in Gaborone, Botswana on the 17th of June 2017.

The purpose of the meeting was two-fold. Firstly to reflect on the huge gap left by the first pioneering and heroic leadership of General Nandi Nandi. Secondly, there was also need to fill some leadership positions which were left vacant as a result of dismissals emanating from the violation of the MLF Constitution and the Code of Conduct, as well as those who had left voluntarily.

It is important to note and indeed remember that last year (2016) in March, our first pioneering leader of impeccable qualities and selfless contribution and abilities, MLF President, General Nandi Nandi, was compelled to step down from leading the MLF by Botswana authorities. The core reason was that the Zimbabwean regime had alleged through the Botswana authorities that the MLF was destabilising its so-called country, Zimbabwe. The second reason being that in terms of Botswana’s laws General Nandi Nandi had naturalised as a citizen of that country, hence he could only participate in the internal politics of that country, and not across Botswana’s borders.

The forced stepping down of the General illustrates vividly the meaning of the loss of sovereignty of one’s homeland and country such as Mthwakazi. The citizens of this destroyed sovereign country (Mthwakazi) are then subjected to immense manipulation and capitulation at the whims of host countries providing them with shelter. This is why it is absolutely vital that our sovereignty and independence of Mthwakazi is restored so that its citizens regain their complete inalienable human rights.

But as the Botswana authorities themselves observed, in the final analysis, assumed citizenship and/or naturalised citizenship will never replace birth right historical citizenship at any time. It is in terms of that there can be no doubt that the birth right citizenship of General Nandi Nandi will be restored alongside the restoration of Mthwakazi, and that restoration will be solidified by the freedom that lies ahead of all the Mthwakazi people.

It was therefore the MLF collective leadership recognition that whilst the gap left by the stepping aside of General Nandi Nandi would never really be filled, it was equally important that another person was nominated to fill in that gap. It was within that context that Dr Mpiyesizwe Churchill Guduza was chosen to take up the Presidency of MLF. He is deputized by Nkosinathi Mkhwananzi who has been the National Chairperson prior to his new role. The position of the Secretary General remained in the hands of Andrea Sibanda and his Deputy will be announced in due course.

Edmos Khumalo took the National Chairpersonship and is assisted by three Provincial Chairpersons. In came Gerald Smith, who has been appointed the International Relations Secretary with immediate effect. Gerald Smith is based in New Zealand for now. The Treasurer General is now Artwell Mnguni whilst Mr Duncan Dlamini was elected the Fundraising Secretary. Information & Publicity was filled in by Mr. Chrispen Nyoni. Mr Mthetheleli Khumalo was elected as the Acting Youth Chairperson, whilst Mrs Thandi Nkomo became the Chairperson of the Women Affairs.

There are a number of positions that remained not filled. It was decided that these positions would be filled as soon as possible by the provincial structures assisted by the combined MLF leadership wherever possible. It is therefore in terms of the foregoing that all the MLF members are required to commit themselves selflessly to the RESTORATION AGENDA that lies ahead. All without exception are urged to work hard for the MTHWAKAZI RESTORATIONAGENDA using all means that are universally acceptable, to be prepared to go an extra mile for the noble cause and to redeem the peoples from the enslavement they are in. By devoting their valuable time to the RESTORATION AGENDA for Mthwakazi, there can be no doubt that all their efforts would significantly express their collective will, and thereby making it very difficult for any manifestation of deviation from the core restoration objects for Mthwakazi.

The world as we know it today is not complete without the State of Mthwakazi. This is why it is important for all of us to dedicate ourselves through committed sacrifice in order to create a better world on Earth where Mthwakazi will play a positive part. It is through such commitment that we will ultimately realize the dream of living in a RESTORED MTHWAKAZI.

For now, we all have to be mindful and aware of developments at home in Mthwakazi where our people continue to face all sorts of obstacles, including death and extreme marginalization by the colonial forces of Zimbabwe. There are reports that have come through several media platforms, indicating that many areas of Mthwakazi, including iNsiza North are under siege from ZANU-PF elements that are displacing people, pillaging their homes and destroying their property. There will never be anytime where and when the people of Mthwakazi will accept such brutality. It is high time we adopt several strategies aimed at defending our people against these colonial   savages.

As MLF, we condemn in the strongest of terms, the brutality being unleashed to our people for no apparent reason other than that they are different (hence Mthwakazian) from those in power in terms of language, culture, practices and beliefs.

For the love of our people, Mthwakazi peoples should, irrespective of political ideology be claiming patriotism, heroism and that they are all about Mthwakazi and her dignity, development, sovereignty and prosperity. It is therefore the responsibility and duty of all Mthwakazi nationals regardless of political alignment to defend one another and our nationality at large without any fear or favour from the evil machinations of the occupying ruthless regime.
