Dear Matebeleland People

Dear Matabeleland People,

We are in this journey to play a role towards the freeing of the oppressed Matebeleland Nation in Africa.  Therefore, as a theatre group, we would like to share this message with the people of Matebeleland. The message is that the greatest obstacle between the oppressed and their freedom is the continuous postponment of their desire to free themselves it.

The primary problem of oppression is that sometimes as oppressed peoples we can be so comfortable in postponing the agenda to free themselves and in the process, lose their steam and passion of gunning for their freedom. Change will only take place when the pain of staying in the shackles and chains of oppression becomes extremely unbearable.  We believe Matebeleland has now decisively gone past that stage but still dithers in its approach towards freedom.

When the oppressed become so uncomfortable with being comfortable then they are ready to change. The oppressor’s greatest weapon is to make the oppressed comfortable in their system of oppression so that they won't be ready for change. The oppressor always make the oppressed feel better but never live better. Many people that are oppressed want change but only a few people are ready to bring change. These few get sick and tired of being sick and tired of oppression and begin to risk everything to make change take place or to fight oppression and gain freedom.

Brothers and sisters, sometimes being oppressed can be like an “incurable condition” yet being oppressed is curable. People lose hope and become comfortable in their situation.

The danger of oppression turned into an “incurable condition” is that people often form what is called support groups that people talk without action and not taking direct action to cure the “condition” that bothers them as a people. When this happens, the danger is that the “condition” gets likely passed on to the next generation and the next generation and the next generation until the Nation becomes history. We believe this should not happen to Matebeleland. We believe Matebele people have reservoirs of valour to free themselves that should be galvanized into direction action for freedom to come tomorrow and not be delayed by any day longer.

Our question to you our brothers and sisters is: Are you ready for change? Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired of oppression? Do you have the desire or zeal to see freedom and change for Matebeleland?

If yes, then go marching forward for your freedom by any means necessary and restore your freedom that has been long lost since year 1893. No “ifs” and “buts”.

Kind Regards

Your brothers in the struggle
