The doctrine grounding Matebeleland Nationalism

The doctrine grounding Matebeleland Nationalism
Published: 15 January 2017 | by Thembani Dube @uMR
The core tenet/doctrine grounding the Restorationist Agenda alias Matebeleland Nationalism or Mthwakazi Nationalism is Matebeleland's independent existence, prio to colonialism, as  a territory pre 1893 until it was destroyed by Rhodes and his accomplices and surprisingly assisted by 252 Shona batmen at the time in the 1893 Gadade battle and subsequent battles that include the Tshangani battle and other battles of note like Phuphu in Lupane.

Subsequent to this colonial sin or unprovoked aggression against our territory by Rhodes and his cronies, Matebeleland was unified with Mashonaland in 1894. The legal instrument that enforced this unification is the Matebeleland Order in Council of 1894.

The 1923 whites only referendum sought to revoke this order and make Matebeleland a South African territory rather than a unified entity with Mashonaland. That referendum was won to keep Matebeleland conjoined with Mashonaland! We did not even have a vote in this. Never exercised it!

So that is the basic core tenet of Matebeleland Nationalism.

The second tenet, which is secondary rather than a primary core tenet of the Restoration Agenda alias Matebeleland Nationalism arises from the Gukurahundi Genocide and the continued threatened security and safety of our people under an Anti-Ndebele Zimbabwean built state. Gukurahundi acts as a fuelling rod to the already primary reason that gives rise to our Nationalism.

Our Nation has continuously been pillaged and raped from different political positions since 1893.

Therefore to secure our unfettered rights, our God given freedoms and security, the Restoration Agenda becomes the fundamental and noble Agenda to pursue to the end, without any reverse gear if i may add. It will not be a sprint. It will be a marathon but the marathon has begun.

The narrative has begun in order to shift the geography of thinking of our people and indeed our oppressors. And importantly to free both the oppressed and the oppressor whose operational system is built on Anti-Ndebeleism as a function of continued conquering and retaining of political power!

The issue of none Ndebele that has been brought up now and again is a non issue. It is just like the issue of non blacks when we were fighting for black rule in the whole of Africa! What happened to them? Are they not in Africa and citizens of Africa? Therefore the issue of non Ndebele people is not an issue at all. In actual fact those who raise it as a barrier to the Restoration Agenda, and many have, need to be challenged to upgrade the debate.

The Restored state will adhere to international norms of behaviour as a state that are governed by various international legal instruments. In actual fact non Ndebeles are free to advocate for the Restoration of our state. This speaks to reason and unparalleled maturity!

Meanwhile umthwakazireview.com (uMR) since following the HRM King Mzilikazi II story since its beginning last year, is informed that HRM Mzilikazi II, Stanley Raphael Khumalo has visited 8 areas both rural and urban areas in Mthwakazi on his "Meeet The People Tour" programme. uMR  is reliably  informed that he has been and continue to be well received. The following are the areas he has visited so far:

Lower Gwelo (twice)
Nyamayendlovu
Mphophoma
Magwegwe
Mabuthweni
Njube
Nkayi koSivalo
Lupane

uMR will continue to follow this developing and growing narrative and exercise its duty to inform the public about it. Any articles or photographs that will be sent to the online site for the public's consumption regarding this narrative will continue to be published. uMR has been amazed by the powerful reaction of the public so far regarding this issue. A powerful debate is raging on regarding the Restoration Agenda in general and long may it continue.

For any Matebele stories people would like published, please feel free to contact us on: editor@umthwakazireview.com
