HRM King Lobhengula Football Club popularly known as “Amawaba” will be hosting an HIV /Aids Awareness Tournament in Bulawayo’s Mpophoma Townsip on the 7th and 8th of October 2017, this coming weekend at Bango aka Somhlolo Grounds.
Amawaba have titled this Tournament as: Hiv/Aids and Cancer Awareness: Building Healthy communities Through Football.
As an upcoming institution, we aim to promote and develop football at youth level in Bulawayo and its hinterlands as well as promote and build healthy communities through football.
As such, we are collaborating with New Start Centre and Male Circumcision, organisations that will be setting up stalls at this Tournament for two days and sharing information on Hiv/Aids and information on Male circumcision.
HRM King Lobhengula Football Club will bring together 16 teams across Bulawayo to partake in this tournament in the spirit of Fair Play and Better Health for All. Our children will be enjoying playing the game and at the same time being ambassadors for promoting Hiv/Aids awareness and issues surrounding male circumcision.
The Tournament competitions will be in three categories that is, under 18, under 16 and under 14s. In each category there is a trophy, kit and medals for grabs for the champions.
The Tournament will be graced by Bulawayo’s big boys in junior soccer development in the mould of Highlanders, Bantu Rovers, Ajax Hotspurs, Chicken Inn, Makhandeni City Pirates and Mpumelelo being the main attraction.
Upsets are likely to be caused by Biya & Friends Football Academy, a project of the United States based former Highlanders’ great, and Captain and National team stalwart Thulani Biya Ncube.
Canada based Isaac Mbedzi's First Mobile Academy FAMSA are in with a chance to turn the tables on opponents.
The tournament hosts, HRM King Lobhengula FC, cannot be written off either in this Tournament as they will put in an effort to upset the big guns and afford themselves a chance to settle in Bulawayo Youth’s Soccer Development Project. It is a debut for them and a big announcement that they are in with a bang in Bulawayo’s football circles. They are set to be the pride of Entumbane Suburb during this tournament and are raring to go for it.
Leading the way in the coaching industry will be Ali Baba Dube of Bulawayo City as he will strive to outdo the likes of Dumaza Dube, Lloyd Munhanga, Gugulethu Dlomo and Charles Moyo. He has a history of producing Matebeleland greats such as the Flying Elephant Peter Nsukuzonke Ndlovu and his brother, the late Adam Adamski Ndlovu, Madinda Juluka Khathazile Ndlovu and the mercurial late Benjamin Makanaky Konjera. The list is endless.
Dube comes against enthusiastic young budding coaches ready to take over the button from him and even do better. His Royal Majesty King 👑 Lobhengula Football Club Tournament brings this platform on Saturday and Bulawayo's Mpopoma Township will be a hive of activity for its residents and beyond.
All Bulawayans are invited to come and watch games and also venture into stalls on Hiv/Aids and Male circumcision that will be set up at the Venues.
It is our Tournament, Your Tournament and Bulawayo’s Tournament!
