uMthwakazi Review4Kits (uMR4Kits), a charity arm wing of umthwakazireview.com continues with its kit donations to schools and the Football Community in Matebeleland.
Since the charity’s inception in January 2015, a number of teams have been beneficiaries of the kit donations. The beneficiary teams include Mthwakazi United FC (Bulawayo), Ajax Hotspurs (Bulawayo) and Stars FC (Lupane).
Stars FC got the kit through a donation that was made to a Lupane Community event in 2015. The event was on: Activism against Gender based violence, where the community was being made aware of strategies to prevent violence primarily against women. Two local teams, Magama FC and Star FC clashed for the uMR4Kits’s donated kit in front of their local community. Magama FC was beaten by Star FC by 4 goals to 1.
Stars FC was awarded the kit. Commenting on the event, the organizer of the event, Vumani Ndlovu said at the time, “The game was really good. Zikholisile izakhamizi zeLupane. Thanks to uMR4Kits for supporting football and uplifting the game in Lupane”
uMR4Kits has done it once again and this time in Tsholotsho. Kalani United FC of Kalani Line in Tsholotsho under Chief Tetegulu has received a kit from uMR4Kits. The ecstatic chairman of the club Mzanywa Sibanda had this to say to uMRKits, “We thank you Dube and your colleagues for helping us with a football kit. We appreciate your help. Now we are a respected team in the community. The boys are excited to play in red and white and I can see that they are motivated.”
uMR4Kits has also donated another 5th football kit to Mthwakazi United FC team, a recently formed team in Bulawayo at the encouragement of uMR4Kits. uMR4Kits is reliably informed that the juniors of the team are now registered with ZIFA.
Two more schools yet to be revealed have benefitted from the kit donations in Matebeleland North and Matebeleland South respectively.
It has indeed been an exciting adventure to help schools and local communities with these donations so the young ones can enjoy the beautiful game in proper kits. uMR4Kits will continue with its programme and reach out to local communities and football clubs as it intensifies its agenda on football. Football is a beautiful game and we must support it at grassroots.
