This comes as a way of an update to the membership of the 1893 Mthwakazi Restoration Movement and the public. The Movement has been making tremendous progress since its publicization and has beefed up its International Board with the Research and Strategy portfolio and the Transport portfolio. The Movement has now two Secretaries for the Research and Strategy portfolio and is happy to announce that Mr Thulani Nkala and Mr Bernard Magugu are now in charge of this portfolio. This is a vital and key portfolio to the Movement and will generate knowledge needed by the Movement to advance its noble and progressive Restoration Agenda for the greater good of Mthwakazi people as a collective. Anything the Movement does has to be backed up with hard evidence from the Research portfolio to buttress its noble Agenda with facts.
The Movement is also happy to announce that Mr John Nkomo is now the Secretary for Transport and will be a key and valuable member of the International Board in oiling the Movement’s activities in this crucial portfolio.
It is also important to make the public aware that the Movement has got wind that there is a research paper coming out soon from the University of St Andrews in Scotland, UK on Gukurahundi Genocide in Matebeleland in the 80s.
The alert to one of the members of the 1893 Restoration Movement informs us that the research paper deals at length with the depth and the extent of the involvement of Margret Thatcher’s British government in the Gukurahundi Genocide in Zimbabwe in the 80’s. This paper maybe coming out in the coming week. The Movement will update its members and the public regarding this paper once one of its members gets full information regarding its publication in the British media. The research paper will hopefully be circulated widely this coming week. It must be noted that this network was cultivated by one of the members of the Movement during the developmental and foundational stages of the organization.
It is also important to put the record straight as to how the 1893 Mthwakazi Restoration Movement has emerged as an organization since 2014. The 1893 Mthwakazi Restoration Movement has emerged via the works of a network of umthwakazireview.com members stationed around the world since 2014. It emerged through its members embarking on structured community intervention activities in Mthwakazi as outlined in its flier released recently while working with several Mthwakazi organizations to build its foundation as an organization. As such, the formation of the 1893 Mthwakazi Restoration Movement has not been an event but a long and arduous process that has led to its formal consolidation in March 2017. It is the reason why the organization has members from different organizations of Mthwakazi in its leadership structures and views this as its strongest strength to date.
The Restoration of our broad and collective rights and collective interests as a people and a Nation know no organizational affiliation, geographical location or any beliefs whatsoever. Our long journey of trials and tribulations since 1893 teach us to be a united people and one Nation to overcome adversity. The Movement therefore remains extremely proud of the projects and work it has done in the past and continues to preach unity of purpose in its Restoration Agenda for Mthwakazi and has no animosity towards any individuals or organizations in Mthwakazi that it has given a hand in times of need and in some cases, in times of extreme danger from the notorious jail cells of the regime of Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
For the above reason and as a progressive Movement that is not driven by competition in its DNA, it has opened its doors to all Mthwakazi people to join it regardless of political affiliation, geographical location and beliefs they may hold. We are not a political party but a Restoration Movement and therefore competition is not in our DNA. Our DNA is characterised by reaching out to all Mthwakazi people and working together with them for the greater good of the Nation in the Restoration Agenda. We are the doves of peace, unity and progress for Mthwakazi’s Restoration Agenda.
The Movement is very pleased and humbled with the groundswell of support it is receiving world-wide from progressive individuals and progressive forces who understand its mission and vision and wishes to thank those who have joined it and continue to bring more members to it to make it a force to be reckoned with in Mthwakazi. It is One challenge, One People, One Nation and One Vision for the 1893 Mthwakazi Restoration Movement. We must overcome our challenge, which is that of occupation, as a collective and progressive force of our great Nation.
Thabo Mbeki once said that the ANC had, “… a good story to tell”. Our Movement, your Movement has a “good story to tell” too. More progressive work is ahead of us as we steer Mthwakazi Nation away from the politics of division, acrimony and animosity and towards unity of purpose and progress in order we can “Restore, Rebuild and Prosper as a Nation”.
